The S&P 500 gained 0.6%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5%, and the NASDAQ advanced 0.4%.
European equities ended higher as easing euro zone bond yields and lower oil prices supported risk appetite, while financials, travel and leisure, and healthcare stocks provided leadership. Asian markets are trading mixed as investors balance the record-setting U.S. session against renewed oil-price pressures and weakness in South Korean technology shares. The KOSPI was down -0.9%, while the Nikkei 225 gained 1.1% and the Hang Seng rose 1.0%.
