Market Wrap International:

U.S. equities ended lower as rising oil prices and Treasury yields weighed on risk appetite, reinforcing inflation concerns and increasing expectations that the Federal Reserve could keep rates higher for longer. Technology shares came under pressure as higher yields reduced the appeal of growth stocks, although Nvidia gained after announcing a $150 billion share-repurchase authorization. The S&P 500 declined -0.8%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell -0.7%, and the NASDAQ dropped -0.9%.

European equities ended little changed as higher oil prices and elevated bond yields offset gains in British homebuilders, keeping broader risk appetite muted. The energy-related inflation concerns and higher borrowing costs limited gains across major markets, while the UK housing sector provided some support. The FTSE 100 declined -0.1%, the DAX fell -0.1%, the CAC 40 gained 0.01%, and the EURO STOXX 600 advanced 0.005%.

Asian markets are trading mixed as higher oil prices and global bond yields weigh on risk appetite, while weakness in technology and semiconductor shares adds pressure across Japan, South Korea and mainland China. Chinese equities also faced concerns over softer domestic demand and slower industrial profit growth, although policy-support measures provided some offset, while Hong Kong shares remained more resilient. The SHCOMP declined -1.7%, the KOSPI fell -2.7%, the Nikkei 225 dropped -0.7%, and the Hang Seng gained 0.5%.
